Cynthia Mathis Beath (born 1944) is an American computer scientist and Professor Emeritus at the Department of Information, Risk and Operations Management at the McCombs School of Business,〔(Cynthia Beath ) at mccombs.utexas.edu, 2013.〕 == Biography == Beath obtained her BA in Psychology from Duke University in 1966, and then moved to the University of California, Los Angeles, where she obtained her MBA in Computer and Information Systems in 1975, and her PhD in Computer and Information Systems in 1986 Beath started her career in the private industry, where she held positions in the information systems development firms and in consultancy. After her promotion she was appointed Professor at the Department of Information, Risk and Operations Management at the McCombs School of Business.
